Past the Present to the Future

As a product of the 80s, I feel that I have lived in one of the most influential eras. Not only did I witness the advancement of technology in leaps and bounds, but also the very tragic signals of the demise of the Earth. It is no secret we have abused this planet and are slowly regressing into another major climatic event, but we are also on the verge of the next biggest revolution in warfare as we expand our resources to include and almose completely depend on technology.

I have witnessed the bag phone used for emergency purposes in the car only transform into a major retail product that has new versions, color and software updates every few months. I carried a ton of books and a full backpack around my elementary school when the announcements were read aloud the overhead paging system; today I watch students test with ipads and perform their own telecasts in an audio/visual room. The amazing part is that I have managed to stay connected for the past 14 years through my various types of emplyment.

I am grateful for the opportunity to work so closely with technology for all these years and gain a multitude of skills and experiences. I have found that all the advancement in my environment has helped me personally to aim at constantly improving myself. I have always had an insatiable appetite for knowledge; now I am in an environment where it is impossible to know everything. It has made me better at what I do.
